Sweet Coloradough celebrates its first year
Sweet Coloradough, which started life last May 15 as doughnut shop and has since expanded its offerings, is celebrating its birthday with a free doughnut for customers each Tuesday and free doughnuts on the 15th.
Aaron Badolato, who owns the shop with his wife, Anne, said it’s been a “whirlwind of a year.”
“As of May 1 we have donated over 400,000 doughnuts from Grand Junction to Vail to Aspen. This has included approximately 587 different nonprofits, events, fundraisers and other community events,” he said, adding: “We have yet to throw away a doughnut, and my evening delivery has brought a lot of smiles to local businesses, hotels, tourists and local patrons.”
In addition to pastries that have become renowned through the region and that have earned national attention, Sweet Coloradough offers deli meats, cheeses, fresh breads, gelato, “phried” chicken, coffee, tea and offer a full bar with Colorado based alcohol and alcohol-infused baked goods.
The date for a formal birthday bash will be announced later.
