Caitlyn Jenner to speak at Aspen Ideas Festival
The most famous transgender woman in America — and probably the world — will speak in Aspen in June.
Caitlyn Jenner — formerly Bruce Jenner — is scheduled to speak June 26 at the closing session of the first portion of this year’s Aspen Ideas Festival called Spotlight Health, according to a statement.
The human-rights advocate and former Olympic athlete is set to have a conversation with Vanity Fair contributing Editor Buzz Bissinger, who wrote the magazine’s cover story about Jenner’s transition to a woman last July.
Jenner currently stars in the E! Network reality series “I Am Cait.” She was formerly married to Kris Jenner, the matriarch of the Kardashian clan and star of the E! Network reality series “Keeping Up With The Kardashians.”
Bruce Jenner broke the world record in the decathlon at the 1976 Montreal Olympic Games and gained the title of “World’s Greatest Athlete.”
Efforts to reach officials at The Aspen Institute on Friday to find out what Jenner will speak about were not successful. The Aspen Ideas Festival will run from June 23 to July 2 and will be divided into three parts, according to the organization’s website. Spotlight Health, set to take place June 23 to 26, will feature speakers from around the world talking about “cutting-edge health issues of our times,” the website states.
The other two parts are scheduled for June 26 to June 29 and from June 29 to July 2. For more information, check out the Aspen Ideas website at http://www.aspenideas.org.
