The Aspen Choral Society will be holding rehearsals for “The Passion” at 6 p.m. each Monday and Wednesday in Glenwood Springs at the Methodist Church (824 Cooper Ave.). Seventh-degree black belt and martial arts teacher Brian Mable will lead an intensive women’s self-defense class from 7-9 p.m. Feb. 23 and 25 at the Glenwood Springs Community Center. A chili dinner and Literacy Night will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 24, at Sopris Elementary School; dinner begins at 5 p.m., and the literacy event starts at 6:30 p.m. Literacy sessions include art, science and math, book-making, reading games. $6 for adults, $4 for children and $20 for a family. Parents of Glenwood Springs High School freshmen and sophomores are invited to attend a meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24 at the GSHS multipurpose room. Counselors will address GSHS graduation requirements and course selection based on students’ plans after high school.
