Call for participation on boards and commissions

GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colo. The City of Glenwood Springs is asking for community participation in helping to establish policies and sitting in quasi-judicial capacities in land use hearings and in liquor licensing and appeals. Panel members are needed for making recommendations regarding budgeting, trails, parks, recreation, licensing, housing, transportation, and compensation to victims of crimes. All are essential to city staff and the Glenwood Springs City Council. The city is seeking interested citizens to fill vacancies on the following boards and commissions: Airport Board – two seats with terms to expire February 2010; Alcohol Beverage Hearing Board – one seat with a term to expire February 2008, two seats and an alternate seat with terms to expire February 2010; Building Contractors’ Licensing Board – two seats and an alternate seat with terms to expire February 2009; Downtown Development Authority Board – two seats with terms to expire June 30, 2010; Financial Advisory Board – two seats and an alternate seat with terms to expire February 2010; Historic Preservation Commission – one alternate seat with a term to expire February 2009; Housing Commission – three regular seats with terms to expire February 2010 and an alternate seat with a term to expire February 2008; Parks and Recreation Commission – two seats and an alternate seat with terms to expire February 2010, a regular seat with a term to expire February 2008, and a youth representative seat with a term to expire May 31, 2008; Planning and Zoning Commission – two seats with terms to expire February 2010, and an alternate seat with a term to expire February 2009; River Commission – three seats with terms to expire February 2010 and two seats with terms to expire February 2009; Transportation Commission – two seats and an alternate seat with terms to expire February 2010; Victim’s and Witnesses Assistance and Law Enforcement Board (VALE) – two seats with terms to expire February 2010 and seat with a term to expire February 2008.Applications can be obtained at City Hall (101 W.
