Calling all pets! Blessing in the Park this Sunday

All of God’s creatures, including cows, fish, amphibians and stuffed animals, are invited to the Congregational Church of the Valley’s blessing in the park.Blessings will be given to all people and animals at 9 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 29, at the Veterans Park in Silt.The Rifle Animal Shelter will bring pets available for adoption and local vets will answer animal questions for a donation.Local groomers will also be at the blessing. Donations given to groomers and vets will go to the Rifle Animal Shelter.Animals should be under owner control at all time. Water and clean up aids will be available for the animals.The blessing commemorates the feast day of St. Francis of Assisi, a 13th century Italian known for his hospitality to all non-humans.The blessing commemorates the feast day of St. Francis of Assisi, a 13th century Italian known for his hospitality to all non-humans.
