Candee Sours, 58, of Grand Junction, passed away March 16 at St. Mary’s Hospital, surrounded by her family. She fought a courageous battle with her health. Candee was born July 30, 1947, in Denver to Harley and Ina Leslie Barfoot. She spent her childhood in Denver, and the family later moved to Silt. She graduated from Rifle High School. Candee married Doug Sours of Silt on Nov. 12, 1965. They spent many years in the Silt area, later moving to Grand Junction in 1998.Candee spent several years in public broadcasting, working at the Rifle Telegram, and later at KMTS Radio Station in Glenwood Springs. She thoroughly enjoyed working with people.Candee was a loving wife, mother, sister, friend and grandmother, and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Her greatest joys were her grandchildren, her family and her faith in the Lord. Candee was preceded in death by her husband; parents; her twin sister Sandee Barfoot; son Brian Sours; daughter Holly Sours (Davis); brothers Harley Barfoot and Richard Lamont; and three grandchildren. Funeral services were held March 20 at the Lighthouse Christian Center with Pastor Linda Talbert officiating. Burial will take place in Rose Hill Cemetery in Rifle.Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Western Colorado, P.O. Box 60307, Grand Junction, CO 81506.Arrangements were under the direction and care of Martin Mortuary of Grand Junction.
