GLENWOOD SPRINGS ” Just short of two weeks after announcing Stan Jensen as the candidate selected by the Colorado Mountain College’s board of trustees, Jensen has accepted the offer. He will take over July 1.

“I am very excited to be coming to Colorado Mountain College,” Jensen said. “I think the best days for Colorado Mountain College are ahead of us. I look forward to serving and leading the college toward a galvanizing kind of future.”

Jensen will take over as the current CMC president, Bob Spuhler, retires at the end of June after five years as president. Spuhler has spent more than 20 years with the community college in some fashion.

Jensen brings with him 19 years as president of Leadership Enterprises Inc., a company that provides training in leadership development, team building, process improvement training and strategic planning to businesses, colleges and nonprofit organizations. CMC hired Jensen two years ago for a strategic planning retreat.

Jensen holds a doctorate in education, a masters of divinity in education and pastoral studies and a bachelor of arts in speech communications.
