Candidates to attend forum in Carbondale

The four candidates for two seats on the Garfield County Board of Commissioners to be decided in the Nov. 4 election are expected to attend a candidates forum in Carbondale on Thursday, Oct. 16.

The forum will be held at the Roaring Fork High School Auditeria, 2270 Highway 133, and will begin with an informal meet-and-greet from 6-6:40 p.m. The question-and-answer session will run from 6:40-9 p.m.

Meet candidates John Martin, the Republican incumbent in District 2, and his Democratic challenger Stephen Bershenyi, and candidates Mike Samson (R) and Steve Carter (D) from District 3, and hear them speak on a wide range of issues that affect the local community.

Although the candidates are from specific districts, voters throughout Garfield County, including Carbondale, will be deciding both seats in the upcoming election.
