Carbondale, Basalt schools combine for production of ‘The Sound of Music,’ opening April 8

Students from four middle and high schools in Carbondale and Basalt are joining forces to present the Rodgers & Hammerstein musical classic “The Sound of Music,” opening the weekend of April 8-9 in Basalt.
The production includes performing arts students from Carbondale Middle School, Roaring Fork High School and Basalt Middle and High schools, under the direction of Christina Wenning (music and production) and Sonya Meyer (choreography).
The show runs April 8, 9, 15 and 16 at 7 p.m. at the Basalt Middle School Auditorium, with 2 p.m. matinees on April 9 and 16.
Tickets can be purchased in advance on Eventbrite, or at the door before each performance.
