Carbondale man dies after crashing into tree at Snowmass

A 48-year-old Carbondale man hit a tree and died while skiing Saturday at Snowmass Ski Area.The man, whose name was not released, was skiing on the Cascade run in the Two Creeks area when he hit the tree, according to the Aspen Skiing Co. Patrol received the call about 3:30 p.m. and performed CPR. The victim was taken to Aspen Valley Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.Skico spokesman Jeff Hanle said he didn’t have any other information. He said the Skico doesn’t release any information until the ski patrol has done a full investigation.
