Carbondale man fares well at Ironman race in Hawaii

Lynn Kirchner ASI PHOTOCarbondale's David M. Clark, 51, placed eighth in his age group (50-54) at the 2010 Ironman World Championships in Kona, Hawaii, earlier this month. The event featured a 2.4-mile swim, a 112-mile bike ride and 26.3-mile run. Clark ran the race only nine weeks after surgery that left him with a plate in his collarbone.
