Carbondale passes 2F, Aibner returns as surveyor

Ballot question 2F Carbondale voters easily approved to allow the town of Carbondale to issue up to $1.8 million in Clean Renewable Energy Bonds (CREBs) to construct and operate two large-scale solar systems. Voters approved the issue by a 1,221 to 292 count.Garfield County Surveyor Scott Aibner was re-elected to the position by a count of 6962 to 6797 over Democratic nominee David Nicholson. State Senate, District 7 Republican Josh Penry defeated Democrat Dana Barker. Barker, 77, a resident of Battlement Mesa, was trying to become the oldest first-time senator.Pitkin County Sheriff Incumbent Bob Braudis won in a landslide over challenger Rick Magnuson. With only touch-screen ballots still to be counted, Braudis led 4,845-823.CU-Regent at Large Republican Brian Davidson was elected as the University of Colorado Board of Regents over Democratic nominee Stephen Ludwig.CU-Regent District 3 Republican Tillie Bishop won out over Democratic nominee Susan Hakanson from Glenwood Springs.Eagle County Referendum 1B Home Rule with still close to 2,000 absentee ballots to count, the referendum was failing by a count of 2,749 to 2,314.
