Carbondale P&Z opens comp plan hearing

CARBONDALE, Colorado – The Carbondale Planning and Zoning Commission opens its public hearing tonight to consider the draft Carbondale Comprehensive Plan.The P&Z hearing culminates several months’ worth of work to prepare the new comprehensive plan, including public input meetings, a citizens working group process and P&Z work sessions.The 140-page document covers a range of topics, from goals and strategies related to economic growth, diversity of housing and town infrastructure, to a future land-use plan for different areas of the town.The comprehensive plan is intended to guide land-use and policy decisions for the next several years.RPI Consulting was contracted by the town to prepare the plan, with help from DHM Design, Kendig Keast Collaborative and Lamont Planning Services.The draft Carbondale Comprehensive Plan can be found on the town website, at, and is contained in the packet for the P&Z meeting.Tonight’s P&Z meeting begins at 7 p.m. at Carbondale Town Hall, 511 Colorado Ave.
