Carbondale teen charged with 2010 sex crime

CARBONDALE, Colorado – The Eagle County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 19-year-old Carbondale man on allegations that he had sexual relations in 2010 with a child who was 12 at the time.

Nelson J. Orellana was booked into the Eagle County Jail on two counts of sexual assault on a child, a class four felony, and is being held on a $20,000 bond.

Orellana is in the U.S. illegally, according to the sheriff’s office, and is also being held on and immigration detainer.



The allegations were first reported to the sheriff’s office on July 10, and Orellana was arrested on Aug. 10.
