Selfies: Carbondale’s Wild West Rodeo in full swing
The Post Independent most Wednesdays publishes a photo story featuring a single topic. Taken from the last name of the PI staff photographer/videographer Chelsea Self, these weekly stories are called Selfies. The feature will include a page of photos in the paper and, online, a digital slideshow and video at postindependent.com. If you have an idea for a topic, email Chelsea at email@example.com.
The Carbondale Wild West Rodeo is every Thursday until Aug. 18 — gates open at 5:30 p.m., slack at 6 p.m., and Grand Entry at 7:30 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at the gate — $10 per person or $30 per carload. The rodeo grounds are located one mile east of downtown Carbondale, and the rodeo goes on rain or shine. Bring your own portable grill and coolers or enjoy the food and beverages for sale on site.
