Cardboard boat race slated at Community Center

The Glenwood Springs Community Center wants families and businesses to demonstrate technological strengths by designing and building a boat to race in the indoor swimming pool at 1:30 p.m. on Monday. This event will feature boats, made solely of cardboard and duct tape, racing the length of the indoor pool.Boats will be racing against each other and the clock in two divisions (speed and weight). Awards will be given to the fastest boat in each division as well as overall. Special awards will also be given for “Most Creative Boats.” Registration is $1 at the Glenwood Springs Community Center, 100 Wulfsohn Rd., Glenwood Springs, CO 81601.
