Carol Jean Ellis
Carol Jean Ellis, 82, of Glenwood Springs, passed away Dec. 3, 2007, in Parker. Carol was born Dec. 14, 1924, in Newcastle, Wyo., to Homer and Mary (Hackely) Boggs. She married Leland Ellis in 1959, and they were valley residents for 27 years. Carol was a member of Mountain View Church and the Christian Women’s After Five Club. She is survived by stepdaughter Kay Ellis; grandsons Michael (Julie) Elphick, and Bradley (Christine) Elphick; close friends and legal guardians Judy and David McCombs and their children Mike (Cindy) McCombs, Wendy (Clay) Thurman, Matthew (Olivia) McCombs and Mark (Amanda) McCombs; and many great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11, at Mountain View Church in Glenwood Springs. The Rev. Dave Pearson and the Rev. David McCombs will officiate. The family asks memorials be sent to the Mountain View Church Missions or Christian Women’s Club. Farnum-Holt Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
