Carol Peggy Stevens passed away July 29, 2009 at home in Glenwood Springs.

She was born in Congress Park, Ill. in 1927 to Jack and Helen (Molly) Mac Fadden Brough. Peggy loved nature and the great outdoors. She was a member of the Sierra Club for many years and an avid gardener. Locally she belonged to the Glenwood Springs Garden Club and the Pardon My Garden Club. She was also a supporter of the arts and of the public library.

Peggy received a Bachelor of Arts Magna Cum Laude in June, 1979 from the University of California, Los Angeles.

Peggy continued in a Masters Program for one year until she relocated to Aspen.

Peggy is survived by her husband, Stan Stevens; three sons, David Innis, John Innis and Fred Stevens; two daughters, Linda Baker and April Stevens; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Peggy will be interred at Bronswood Cemetery, 3805 Madison Ave., Brough Family Plot 63, Sect. A, Oakbrook, Illinois.

A celebration of her life will be held at the North Shelter in Veltus Park on Wednesday, August 12 starting at 3:30 p.m. All are invited to come and share friendship and memories of Peggy.
