Carrol Neal McCombs
Carrol Neal McCombs of El Jebel died Wednesday, July 9, 2003, in Glenwood Springs. He was 43.
He was born Sept. 5, 1959, in Abilene, Texas, to Mary Joyce and Carrol L. McCombs.
Mr. McCombs graduated from Brighton High School in 1978. He excelled in wrestling, football and other sports. He attended Fort Lewis College in Durango.
Mr. McCombs worked as a ceramic tile setter for 22 years before he became disabled.
He was a member of the Southern Baptist Church.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and collecting, and he loved to cook. He loved people, animals and the mountains.
Mr. McCombs is survived by his father, Carrol McCombs; by his mother and stepfather, Mary Joyce and Isaac Zamora; by a grandmother, LaRue Johnson; and by many aunts, cousins and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, July 14, at Highland Mortuary in Thornton, with the Rev. T.J. Vallero officiating. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery in Thornton.
Farnum-Holt Funeral Home of Glenwood Springs is in charge of arrangements.
