Catherine Margaret Morford, 84, passed away June 19, 2008, in Sandpoint, Idaho.

Catherine was born Nov. 1, 1923, in Glenwood Springs, to Michael and Annie McCarthy. She grew up and attended schools in Glenwood Springs, graduating from Garfield County High School.

She was a hardworking mother of two sons. She worked in Glenwood Springs as a housekeeper, and as a clerk at the Guddy Shop, City Market and Safeway.



She married Jerry Morford Aug. 19, 1968, in Basalt. The couple moved to Sandpoint in 1979, where they enjoyed raising fruit trees and roses.

Survivors include her sons Robert (Joan) McCarthy of New Castle and Daniel (Shirley) McCarthy of Nashville, Tenn.; grandson Donald (Jeanie) McCarthy of New Castle; and sister Mary Searl of Ogden, Utah.



She was preceded in death by her husband; and grandson Robert Lee McCarthy.

Inurnment will take place next to her husband in Palisade.
