Thanks to cooperative chamber agreements, sponsorships and grants, the Glenwood Springs Chamber Resort Association is proud to present its Fall Seminar lineup, beginning with seminars scheduled for September and early October. Mark your calendars for these seminars offered at low or no cost, and visit for the late fall schedule.

Sept. 16: “Financial Management: Just the Essentials Please!”: In what is dubbed as a financial seminar specifically developed for the small business individual who does not have a financial background, Smyth and Associates will cut through all the red tape to focus directly on essential financial concepts and terminology of the industry which ALL business men and women absolutely need to know.

Leave the accounting books at home. Come totally unprepared and you’ll learn the basics PAINLESSLY. This may be the single most important seminar you will ever attend!

Sept. 17: “Project Management for the Rest of Us.” You’ll learn project management techniques and approaches which can be used whether you’re building a bridge or designing a payroll system. The seminar provides small businesses with the core principles to effectively and successfully undertake any effort without requiring weeks of training.

Each full-day attendee at either of these seminars receives a Certificate of Seminar Completion signed by T-REX, Southeast Corridor Constructors and Smyth Consulting, Inc. Coffee, juice, muffins and croissants!

Both seminars are held at the Community Center beginning at 9 a.m. and are offered free of charge, thanks to a grant from Southeast Corridor Constructors and the T-Rex Project. However, you must call 303-290-1902 to register.

Sept. 23:

Learn how to develop an effective marketing plan for your business and increase your sales by attending Smart Marketing for Small Businesses. Co-sponsored by the Small Business Development Center at Colorado Mountain College, the Progressive Business Development Network and the Glenwood Chamber, the seminar will be held at the CMC Blake Avenue campus in Glenwood at 9 a.m. The cost is $20 for Chamber members, $25 for nonmembers. Call the Chamber at 945-6589 to register.

Oct. 6 and Nov. 3:

Join the Glenwood Chamber, the Downtown Development Authority and the Small Business Development Center as they sponsor two dynamite retailing classes. Critically acclaimed presenter Lisa Duncan will present “Merchandising and Visual Display” on Oct. 6, followed by “Designing a Complete Sales Team” on Nov. 3. The cost is $20 for DDA and Chamber members, $25 for nonmembers. Call the Chamber at 945-6589 to register.
