Chance of snow is 100 percent today

The National Weather Service is forecasting a continued winter storm for today through Wednesday, with 3 to 7 inches of snow forecast for tonight, and below-zero temperatures on Wednesday night.

The chance of snow today is at 100 percent, with as much as 1 to 2 feet of snow falling in the mountains.

For the valleys, the weather service is calling for snow through today, with 1 to 2 inches accumulating by nightfall and high temperatures in the mid to upper 30s. Tonight, temperatures will fall into the teens and another 3 to 7 inches of snow are expected.

The storm continues Wednesday, but with less snow and colder temperatures.

Wednesday is forecast to draw another 1 to 2 inches of snow, but high temperatures reaching only the low to mid 20s. Wednesday night has just a 20 percent chance of snow, with overnight lows of minus 1 to minus 3.

Sunny skies and slightly warmer temperatures return on Thursday.
