Charles E. Wicklund

Charles E. Wicklund, 81, of Pueblo, passed away on Aug. 20, in Fountain Hills, Ariz. Chuck was born in Leadville on Jan. 21, 1925, and also was a resident of Basalt and Glenwood Springs from 1961 to 1983. He served in World War II and was awarded the Bronze Star for bravery. His desire in life was to make people laugh and leave them with a smile on their face, and he succeeded. A long life against the odds was a result of his strong faith in Christ.Chuck is survived by his three daughters, Jan McFarland, Bonnie Smith and Lori Bentley and six grandsons as well as stepchildren and step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Stella, and his parents, Ed and Elizabeth Wicklund. A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 24, in Pueblo at St. Francis Xavier Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sangre de Cristo Hospice in Pueblo.
