Charles Jerome Reed

Charles Jerome Reed, of Grand Junction, died May 13, 2004. He was 69.

A memorial service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, May 22, at Cottonwood Park in Parachute. His friends and family will officiate.

He was born Jan. 18, 1935.



Mr. Reed was a plant operator for the Battlement Mesa Water Treatment Plant.

Born and raised in Wyoming, he moved to Colorado in 1970, where he married Verna Stanton on July 14, 1978.



He was a member of the Elks and Lions clubs of Rifle and of the National Hot Rod Association. He was active in the community as a Boy Scout chaperone and a Pee Wee basketball coach.

Mr.Reed is survived by his wife, Verna; by sons and daughters-in-law Danny and Rhonda Reed of Rifle, and Gary and Tina Reed of Osage, Wyo.; by daughter Jerri Varela of Cedaredge; by stepsons Doug Perry and wife Marla of Colorado Springs, and Don Perry and wife Kim of Woodland Park; by stepdaughters Vicki Perry and Connie Perry of Grand Junction; and by 12 grandchildren.
