Charles Lilly

Charles Richard Lilly of Haiku, Hawaii, died Wednesday, June 12, 2002, at Maui Memorial Medical Center. He was 59.

Mr. Lilly was born Jan. 9, 1943, in Philadelphia.

He attended Colorado Rocky Mountain School in Carbondale and earned a degree in business from Colorado Mountain College.

Mr. Lilly was self-employed as a genealogist, researcher and historian. He contributed to the Family History Center in Glenwood Springs and the Mormon Family History Center in Salt Lake City.

While he lived in the Crystal River Valley, he was a member of Garfield County Search and Rescue, the Carbondale Fire Department, the Sopris Historical Society, the Ragged Mountain Reserve and the Colorado Archaeological Association.

Mr. Lilly is survived by his mother, Mary C. Lilly of Haiku, Hawaii; and by a brother, John C. Lilly Jr. of Zacatecas, Mexico.

Private family services were held. Burial was in the Lilly family plot in St. Paul, Minn.
