Charles Richard Collard passed away Wednesday, Nov. 3. He was born May 24, 1931, in Gunnison and raised on the J/O Ranch near Gunnison. He and his two brothers helped their parents raise cattle and farm.Richard married Billie Louis Spann in 1953. He is survived by three children, Doug Collard, Dave Collard and Dixie Richards; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Dave Collard and Thomas Collard, both from Mesa County.Richard worked for the Division of Wildlife for 25 years. He enjoyed the outdoors more than anything. His hobbies included hunting, target shooting and riding his snowmobiles. Per his request, there will be no memorial services.
