Charlotte Southard, 94, passed away Dec. 8, 2007, in Glenwood Springs.Charlotte was born July 10, 1913, in Hat Creek, Calif. She moved to Nubieber, Calif., with moves later to Carmel, Calif., Aspen and Basalt. Charlotte, along with her husband Dolin, was an avid square dancer. She served with the PTA, was a leader of the Girl Scouts, homemaker and businesswoman. She loved to travel and often said her two favorite places were Egypt and Venice, Italy.She will be greatly missed. Survivors include sons Jerry Southard of Basalt and Jess Southard of Reno, Nev.; granddaughter Kristin (Josh) Applet of Reno, Nev.; grandson Kenny Carpenter of Hawaii; special boy Michael Bronson of Sonoma, Calif.; and a number of nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her husband, Dolin, son, Terry, daughter, Norma; and siblings Boss, Babe, Buster, Clarence, Cora, Billy and Midge.Interment will be held in Lookout, Calif., beside her husband. A memorial will take place in the spring in California.
