Chip-seal workset for U.S. 6

Colorado Department of Transportation maintenance crews will seal sections of U.S. 6 between Rifle and New Castle July 19 to 22. On Monday and Tuesday, July 19 and 20, a section between Rifle and Silt, milemarkers 97 to 98.5, will be chip sealed and then swept.On Wednesday and Thursday, a section between Silt and New Castle, milemarkers 102 to 103.5, will be chipped and swept. Work will be done in both directions, and motorists will be asked to drive through the single-lane work zone with a pilot car during work hours, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.A 35-mph speed limit will exist in the work zone. This advised speed limit will help motorists avoid broken windshields from gravel.
