Chris Wayne Carmichael
Chris Wayne Carmichael died Monday, April 14, 2003. He was 41.
He was born April 24, 1961, in Plainville, Kan., to Ronald and Shirley Carmichael.
The family moved to Glenwood Springs when he was in first grade.
Mr. Carmichael worked in the construction trades, including oil rigs and erecting telecommunications towers in Arizona, California and Puerto Rico.
He was an outgoing, active person who loved the outdoors, particularly hunting, fishing, skiing, motorcycling and four-wheeling. He also enjoyed writing poetry and drawing.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Carmichael.
Mr. Carmichael is survived by his father and stepmother, Ronald and Margie Carmichael of Grand Junction; by a son, Kamon Zehner of Grand Junction; by sisters Debra Smith of Houston, and Kim Black of Grand Junction; and by nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 19, at Moore-Overleese Mortuary Chapel in Plainville. Burial will follow at Plainville Cemetery.
Callahan-Edfast Mortuary of Grand Junction is in charge of arrangements.
