Christine Diaz, 83, passed at away April 11, 2009, at home following a very brave battle with cancer.
Christine was born July 24, 1925, in Delta, to Dionisio and Petra (Tovar) Diaz.
Christine was a member of St. Stephen’s Catholic Church in Glenwood Springs.
She is survived by brothers Joe (Margaret) Diaz of Silt, Ted (Jo) Diaz of Rifle, Eugene (Eva) Diaz of Silt, and Charlie Diaz of Silt; sisters Tonia Webb of Helper, Utah, and Betty Fulton of Glenwood Springs; niece Teresa Diaz of Silt; and numerous other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by brothers Steve, Frank and Harry; sisters Jovita Garcia and Molly Yeoman.
A Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, April 17, at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church. Coffee and donuts will be served immediately following the Rosary at the church at Christine’s request.
A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 18, at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church, with Father Cliff McMillan officiating.
Cremation has taken place and her ashes will be interred at Skyline cemetery in Silt. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the St. Stephen’s’ kitchen fund.
