The word “seder” means the order of the ritual followed at the traditional home re-enactment commemorating the exodus of the Jewish people out of Egypt. Ritual re-enactments begin at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, March 31, at St. Brendan Parish, Parachute; on Monday, April 7, at Sacred Heart Parish, Silt; and on Tuesday, April 8, at St. Mary’s Parish, Rifle. The parish staff, Father Robert E. Hehn, Sister Mary Senglaub, Irene Goergen, the Parish Liturgy Committee and many of those attending the meal will participate in the rituals and readings of this centuries-old celebration.Gospel musicThe Glenwood Springs Church of the Nazarene, 1007 Blake, will have an evening of gospel music at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, March 29, featuring the Saved by Grace quartet, soloist and guitar player Gary Lockline and the Mid-Valley Quartet. Everyone is invited to the service and inter-faith fellowship after the service.Mennonite book study, retreatThe Glenwood Springs Mennonite Church will begin a six-week study of the book, “Choosing Against War: A Christian View.” The next meeting is Thursday, April 3, at the home of Kim and Lauren Martin, 2401 Blake.This weekend, members of the Glenwood Mennonite Church will attend a weekend retreat. On Sunday, the Mennonite Church building will be open from 9:30-11:30 a.m. for silence and meditation, but there will be no organized worship service. A host will be present. Joshua is an in-depth inductive study that will help in understanding God’s Word, bring healing to the soul, and give direction to a person’s life.
