Valley Havurah

Shabbat Shalom. In Israel this week, the Parashat and Haftarat Balak is being read. The Torah portion is Parashat Hukkat-Balak, Numbers 19:1-25:9 and the Haftorah portion is Haftarat Hukkat-Balak, Micah 5:6-6:8. Family Fun Night

Trinity Baptist Church will host a night of family fun from 5-8 p.m. Saturday, July 19, at Sopris Elementary School parking lot. There’ll be game booths, prizes, bouncers, a climbing wall, a petting zoo, pony rides, food and best of all, it’s free! Kids age 5 to 11 are invited to an intergalactic space journey never to be forgotten. We’ll join four wacky penguins and journey through the Bible to discover how to let God change our hearts so we can be more like Jesus. Congregational Church of the Valley

Sunday, July 13, Grace Michelle will lead the worship service at 10:30 a.m. in the park adjacent to the church, 6th and Home in Silt. The adult Bible Forum will study the “Little Apocalypse,” the 13th chapter of Mark, at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, July 20. Information: Mary Haggart, 876-2673.

Catholic Masses

The weekend schedule of Masses at St. Mary, Rifle, is as follows: Saturdays: Misa en Espanol, 5 and 7 p.m.; Sunday, 8 and 10:30 a.m. No Spanish Mass on Sunday. Mass at St. Brendan Parish, Parachute, Saturday, at 4:30 p.m. Mass at Sacred Heart, Silt, at 7 p.m.

Presbyterians meet

Worship service at the First Presbyterian Church of Glenwood Springs, 1016 Cooper Ave., is at 10 a.m. every Sunday. An adult study group meets at 9 a.m. Sunday. Information: Pastor Roy Altman, 945-6340.

Seventh-day Adventist services

Church at Carbondale

Haven’t been to church lately? Church at Carbondale is designed to give a comfortable, non-threatening reintroduction to church. First time attendees aren’t put on the spot. Observe or participate at your own pace. The atmosphere is Western Slope casual, the music is upbeat and the sermons are relevant to daily life.

Glenwood Baptiservices

Buddhist philosophy taught

Grace Church services
