All Saints BBQ

All Saints Episcopal Church in Parachute will hold its annual barbecue and bluegrass festival from 4:30 to 7 p.m., Friday, Sept. 20, at the historic Christian Church site at 2nd St. and Parachute Ave. The music will feature Danny Agajanian playing bluegrass and country music. Cost is $7 for adults and $3.50 for children 12 and under. The menu includes beef or pork, baked beans, coleslaw and apple pie. For more information, call Dickie Calvert, 285-0212.

St. Stephen’s celebrates Oktoberfest

St. Stephen’s Catholic Church is holding its annual Oktoberfest celebration from 2 p.m. until midnight Saturday, Sept. 28 at St. Stephen’s School and Parish Center, Hyland Park Drive and Blake Street, Glenwood Springs, with fun and games for the kids, food for the whole family, a bake sale, raffle drawing and ending with a polka dance. Everyone is invited.

Come to the Church at Carbondale

Join the Church at Carbondale this fall as we explore God’s Word about life’s challenges, especially the ones we face in the valley. We’ll see what God says and can do about the disappointments and struggles we encounter. Join the Church at Carbondale, 110 Snowmass Drive. Bible study at Mountain View Church

A Precept Upon Precept Bible study entitled “Covenant,” runs to Dec. 11 at Mountain View Church in Glenwood Springs. The Precept study method is embraced by people seeking to know the truths of the Word of God for themselves. These in-depth studies are widely acclaimed for their practical, personal approach to Bible study. The study includes homework discussion and lecture to unlock the message of God’s Word. This study is uniquely designed for the serious student as well as for the individual who has never studied the Bible before. Seventh Day Adventist services

The Seventh Day Adventist Church, 0086 Village Dr. in south Rifle, has Sabbath School at 10 a.m. Sunday, 11 a.m. worship and a Wednesday praisefest at 7 p.m. For information, call Pastor Dave Bottroff, 625-1215.

Grace Tabernacle has services

Marble Church services held

The Marble Community Church holds services each Sunday at 10 a.m. Services for Sunday, Sept. 15, will be led by Rev. Linda Arocha Boylan and Karen Tafejian will be the organist. This is Communion Sunday.

Presbyterians meet

The First Presbyterian Church of Glenwood Springs worship service is at 10 a.m. each Sunday. Coffee and refreshments are served following the service. An adult study group meets at 9 a.m. Sunday. For more information, call 945-7331.

United Methodist services

Sunday services at the Basalt Community United Methodist Church are 9:30 a.m. at 200 E. Homestead Ave. in Basalt and 7 p.m. at 24593 Fryingpan Rd. in Thomasville.
