St. Mary of the Crown Catholic Church serves up an all-you-can-eat fish fry from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 3. The meal includes deep-fried catfish fillets, coleslaw, baked beans, rolls and homemade desserts. Donations of $10 for adults and $5 for kids under 12 are being asked. The church is located at the top of White Hill, just outside Carbondale.

The Congregational Church of the Valley observes communion at 10:30 a.m. the first Sunday of each month. Adult Sunday school is at 9:30 a.m. each Sunday, and for children at 10:30 a.m. The church is located on North Sixth Street in New Castle. For more information, call 984-2232.
Jeremiah People coming
Christ Community Church hosts the Jeremiah People at 7 p.m., Monday, May 6. The group consists of eight young adult performers who provide an evening of drama, music and testimony. The church is located on Highway 82, just upvalley from El Jebel. For more information, call 927-3889.
Spiritual workshop held
St. Barnabas Episcopal Church conducts a spiritual gifts workshop from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Monday, May 13. There’ll be scriptural teaching, inventory and discussion. For more information, call Rev. Nina Stasser at 945-6423.
The New Creation Church is raising funds to send teenagers on a mission to Chile, where they will help with a crusade to start a new church, and hope to start a shelter for battered women and their families. Marble services held
The Marble Community Church holds services Sunday at 10 a.m. The Rev. Linda Arocha-Boylan officiates, with Karen Tafejian as organist.
Thomasville services held
Basalt Community United Methodist Church holds services at its Thomasville church Sundays at 7 p.m. Services are held in Basalt Sundays at 9:30 a.m.
The Church at Redstone holds services at 213 Redstone Blvd. Sundays at 10 a.m. Bruce Gledhill is the pastor.
The Church at Carbondale holds services at Roaring Fork High School Sundays at 9 a.m.
The Seventh Day Adventist Church of Rifle holds Sabbath school Saturdays at 10 a.m., followed by worship services at 11 a.m. Praisefest is held Wednesdays at 7 p.m. For more information, call 625-1215. The church is located at 0086 Village Drive.
