City shindig planned for Aug. 22 at new City Hall

Staff Report

Now that the new $6 million Glenwood Springs City Hall is finished, city officials are planning a party.

Everyone is invited.

The shindig is set for Thursday, Aug. 22, at the new City Hall, 101 W. Eighth St.

It starts with a ribbon cutting at 5:30 p.m., followed by a free picnic supper and cookout, featuring the grilling skills of City Council members, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Party-goers can take tours of the new building through the evening.

The event is also part of National Night Out, an outreach effort by law enforcement agencies. Watch for booths and activities that explain their services and offer information.

The new City Hall opened Aug. 5.

The new phone number for the building is 384-6400.
