Clarence B. Smith
Buck (Clarence) Smith, a 55-year resident of New Castle and Garfield County, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 25, at St. Mary’s Hospital during an angiogram procedure. Buck was 82.He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Donna; his children Bonnie, Randy and Debbie; a grandson, Damon; and several other grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son Gary.Buck was a rancher/fruit farmer in Peach Valley, New Castle, for 35 years; a heavy equipment master operator of quite some renown; and an over-the-road and construction truck driver prior to retiring to Palisade with his wife.There was never a person who met Buck Smith who had an ill word to say about him. He was a truly wonderful human being, husband and father.Services will be at 10 a.m., Monday, Jan. 31, at St. Ann’s Church in Palisade. Graveside services will follow at Veterans Memorial Cemetery of Western Colorado in Grand Junction.
