Clarification
A story in Mondays Post Independent that included an update on the new Garfield County Health and Social Services Facility being built at the Garfield County Fairgrounds in Rifle reported that the $2.8 million project was being funded by the city of Rifle, Garfield County and the Re-2 school district. The city, school district and the Field of Dreams ball field fund-raising committee contributed to only a portion of the project moving the Cooper Field ball park to Deerfield Park. EnCana Oil & Gas contributed $125,000 to the new ball field as well. The story should also have reported that Garfield County Commissioners voted, 2-1, in March 2004 to put the building at a site on Airport Road. They later changed the buildings location to the fairgrounds.
