CMC-Glenwood Center classes cancelled again Tuesday

All classes at the Colorado Mountain College’s Glenwood Springs Center on Blake Avenue are cancelled Monday and Tuesday, due to environmental testing in the building, according to CMC officials.

Classes at CMC Spring Valley remain in session, and the visitors’ day at Spring Valley will be held as scheduled, according to a press release from the college.

Day and evening classes are canceled at the Blake Ave. building Feb. 18 and 19, and the Children’s Mini College is also closed.

While repairing the roof leak, workers found a patch of mold, and crews are testing the entire building as a precaution, according to a spokesperson.

“Contractors were repairing a roof leak and found mold in a small, enclosed part of the building,” the spokesperson said.

“The health of our students, community members and employees is very important to us, so as a precaution follow-up tests are being conducted throughout the building. Based on those test results we’ll determine next steps.”

Tests to the lobby area had equal concentration of spores as outdoors, the spokesperson said.
