Coal Ridge girls lose heartbreaker to Olathe, 49-48

PEACH VALLEY, Colorado – Amanda Wenzel scored 13 points and Britni Allen chipped in nine for the Coal Ridge High School girls basketball team, but the Titans fell just short of rallying from a 10-point fourth-quarter deficit in a 49-48 Class 3A Western Slope League loss on Tuesday.

Paige Ryan chipped in eight points and Allen added eight rebounds for Coal Ridge (5-8 overall, 4-6 league play), which outscored Olathe 17-8 in the fourth quarter after it was down 41-31 after three.

Coal Ridge continues league play Friday at home against Gunnison.
