Coal Ridge to host informal gathering

The death of Zach Schwartz, a 16-year-old Coal Ridge High School student has prompted school officials to hold an informal gathering tonight.

The gathering will be an effort to assist family, friends and community members cope with the loss of Schwartz. Three other Coal Ridge students were in involved in the accident. Alex Klein, 15, of New Castle and Ian Martinez, 16, of Silt remain at St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Junction.

Counselors will be available at the school to assist any student or community member at this time.
