Coal Ridge wrestlers have good showing at Eagle Valley Invite

Coal Ridge’s wrestlers took home four top-three finishes from Saturday’s Eagle Valley Invitational.

“Overall, I couldn’t be happier with these kids,” Titans coach Mike Mikalakis said. “They did a great job this weekend.”

Junior Michael Shaw and senior Devon Godeski led the way, with Shaw winning the 132-pound bracket and Godeski taking first at 138 pounds.

“I’m really impressed with how they wrestled this weekend,” Mikalakis said.

At 145 pounds, freshman Christian Keith made a second-place showing. Senior Collin Carbone, a 120-pounder, wrestled his way to third place.

“Overall, it was a really good day,” Mikalakis said.

Next up for the Titans is the forthcoming weekend’s Palisade Invitational.
