The Colorado Department of Transportation is seeking public input after publishing a draft of the Statewide Active Transportation Plan.
“Active transportation” is any human-scale and typically human-powered mode of transportation, such as walking, running, bicycling, rollerblading, skateboarding or using an electric bicycle or a wheelchair, according to a CDOT news release.
The plan is available for public review and comments through July 18. Developed over the past year with input from public and community stakeholders, the plan will set the stage for enhancing public transportation and a safer, more connected and more inclusive transportation system.
Once finalized, the plan will guide the transportation department and its partners in prioritizing projects, shaping policy and coordinating efforts to make active transportation a viable and attractive option.
