"Come February"
We all knew that it was going to come down
flow down
fall down
around us.
We knew
and no one said a word.
We watched it happen,
let it happen,
helped it happen.
While the spinners spun
their web of deceit
we watched the bombs fall.
It was wrong
and we knew it.
Wrong,
and we said nothing,
did nothing.
In our silence we betrayed ourselves
and each other.
Blinded by the rockets red glare,
deafened by the bombs bursting in air
we let it happen.
We shall be silent no more.
Let us bring our voices together
in a prayer for peace.
