Comedians pair up for Valentine’s weekend show

The Hotel Colorado explores the hilarious world of stand-up comedy this weekend with a special show featuring two favorites from Denver’s Comedy Works club: Bryan Kellen and Jeff Wozer. The pair appear at 8 p.m. Friday.

Kellen, winner of “America’s Best Up and Coming Comedian” at the 2003 National Comedy Hall of Fame, is an established comic with a wealth of TV and corporate credits. He’s also well known for his endless energy and a ridiculously rubber-like body. Kellen mixes storytelling, observational humor and physical comedy, re-enacting his most uncomfortable life experiences.

Kellen’s busy performance schedule has taken him to comedy hot spots such as the Comedy Store on L.A.’s Sunset Strip, the Improv in Las Vegas and the Ice House in Pasadena, Calif. He’s appeared on NBC-TV, the WB’s “Daily Buzz” and MTV’s “Special Stand-Up Report,” and has earned accolades such as being named one of the Top 100 comedians in the country by the Hollywood Entertainment Business Journal. He was also the winner of the 1999 Rocky Mountain Laff-Off.

Kellen and Wozer appear in the Devereux Room of the Hotel Colorado. A few tickets, $12, may still be available at the door. Reservations: 945-6511, ext. 117.
