GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colo. The Skate Park Committee meets tonight to review plans for the first phase of a new skate park.More than 60 young people entered the city council chambers in April in support of building a new skate park at Two Rivers Park. Lisa Moreau, the mother of Jono Moreau, who is leading the effort, said Glenwood Springs had committed $60,000 for the park and agreed to match up to $12,000 of money the committee raises. The meeting at the Community Center at 7 p.m. tonight is designed to review plans from skate park design company Grindline. This will be the first of two phases of construction, which should include a new half-pipe and some street features. Also on the agenda is discussion about how to raise additional funding. Moreau said the committee raised about $1,000 from Strawberry Days. They also set up a booth at Ride the Rockies, but the amount collected is not yet known.Attendance at weekly committee meetings has waned and members seemed to scatter over the summer. For this meeting the committee hopes to boost attendance.Post Independent, Glenwood Springs Colorado CO
