GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colorado ” Community Banks of Colorado in the Roaring Fork Valley and Garfield County are holding a community yard sale on Saturday, Oct. 25, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The event is being held to raise money for the United Way Garfield County, which supports more than 20 local service organizations including, Advocate Safe House, Catholic Charities, Lift Up, Feed My Sheep and Habitat for Humanity. Community Banks wanted to help out and vice president of Community Banks of Colorado in Glenwood Springs, Michele Diamond, thought this would be a good way for the community as a whole to participate.

“We want to raise as much as we can and Community Banks wants to raise money in a grass-roots way,” Diamond said. “So, Aspen, Basalt, Glenwood, and Rifle have all come together and are looking for donations.”

Starting Monday, Oct. 20, the banks will begin taking donations for the event. They are looking for anything except for clothing, according to Diamond, that is in good working order. They don’s want things like lawnmowers that don’t cut grass.

The yard sale will be in the Community Banks of Colorado parking lot in Glenwood Springs located at 810 Grand Avenue in Glenwood Springs.

People who have things to contribute, or for more information, contact Michele Diamond at 945-7035.
