Glenwood Springs Elks Lodge 2286 will honor veterans of all branches of the armed services at 6 p.m. today, Friday, Nov. 11. Please join us for hors d’oeuvres, beverages, speakers with a special recognition for the Army, and entertainment from the Glenwood Springs High School Percussion Ensemble.

Also highlighted during the evening will be video from 2011 Veterans Winter Sports Clinic held annually at Snowmass and sponsored by the Elks Lodges from Glenwood Springs, Rifle and Aspen.

The Elks Lodge, located on Highway 6 next to Glenwood Gardens, encourages veterans of all branches of the armed services to join us for this day of remembrance and recognition to those who have served our country.

The town of Carbondale Utilities will begin performing annual cleaning and maintenance of the sewer system throughout town starting Monday, Nov. 14.

High pressure water is used to perform this maintenance, creating a potential inconvenience for customers with short service lines. If you have experienced a problem in the past with back pressure or water back up in your plumbing fixtures, please cover those fixtures with a plastic bag or a towel between the hours of 8 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. If you have any questions call 963-3140.
