The American Legion Post 100’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Carbondale will start on Main Street by Sopris Park at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 17, and end at the American Legion. Forms for parade entries are available at The Pour House, Carbondale Rec Department in Town Hall or the American Legion. For information, call 963-2381.

Put on your jeans and shine up your jewels for the Denim 2 Diamonds Benefit Dinner and Auction supporting the Garfield County 4-H Council. This year’s benefit will begin at 6 p.m. Saturday, March 17, at the Glenwood Springs Community Center.

Entrees are prepared by Haute Plate Bistro Catering, and music is provided by local musicians Alpine Echo. The live auction will feature one-of-a-kind items: four 50-yard-line club section tickets to the Denver Broncos, 20 Gauge 0/U Shotgun, a one night’s stay at Avalanche Ranch and Hot Springs, and two one-day lift ticket to any one of Aspen Ski Co.’s four mountains for the 2012-2012 season. There will also be a silent auction.

This event serves as the Garfield County 4-H Council’s primary source of fundraising income. The council offers scholarships, grants and resources. Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for ages 7-12, and free for 6 and under. Kids are welcome and encouraged; there will be child care available. Each ticket includes an entry into the drawling for an Apple iPad. Tickets available by emailing or calling 970-625-3969.
