The Grand River Hospital District Volunteer Association presents the fifth annual Grand Wine Affair, from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 20, in the Grand River Hospital Conference Area located at 501 Airport Road. Enjoy wine tasting, hors d’oeuvres, live music and a silent auction. All proceeds will benefit the Grand River Meals on Wheels program. Tickets are $25 each or $45 per couple and are available at The Grand River Cafe, Choice Liquors, and at the door the night of the event. Call 625-6423 for more information on the Grand Wine Affair.

The Aspen Hope Center received a $10,000 grant award from the Colorado Office of Suicide Prevention to support its Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR) suicide prevention trainings. For the second year during September’s Suicide Prevention month, the Hope Center will offer two trainings each Tuesday from Aspen to Rifle. Training is offered at 5:30 p.m. Tuesdays: Sept. 4 at the Rifle Library; Sept. 11 at the Basalt Library and at 108 Eighth St. in Glenwood Springs; Sept. 18 at the Carbondale Fire Department and at the New Castle Library; and Sept. 25 at 108 Eighth St. in Glenwood Springs.
