The next Colorado Workforce Centers Roundtable is Employer Discrimination presented by Ben Hase with DORA. The series is free and will be held from 9-10:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 24, in both Rifle and Glenwood Springs via the Colorado Mountain College Internal Video System. Glenwood Springs location is the CMC District Office at 802 Grand Ave., and the Rifle location is the Rifle CMC campus out by the Garfield County Airport.

Literacy Outreach needs your help teaching basic literacy skills to adults including basic reading, writing and math to native English speakers and oral English skills to non-native speakers. Volunteers do not need to speak a foreign language or have prior teaching experience, just a desire to help, the ability to read and speak English and three hours of time per week to work with an adult.
Literacy Outreach will provide interested volunteers with more information regarding the requirements and rewards at any of the following informational sessions: 6-7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 17, Rifle Branch Library, 207 East Ave.; and 6-7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 20, Parachute Branch Library, 244 Grand Valley Way.

Over 75,000 hikers visited Hanging Lake during this year’s peak season. Via signage, the city hopes to point more of those hikers also in the direction of downtown Glenwood Springs.
